Title:  Michael Brown - New Age Collection, 1989-1995. ead
 Date(s):  1989-1995.
Abstract:  These materials were gathered between 1989 and 1995 in various parts of the United States, but especially in the Southwest and New England. They were collected as part of an ethnographic study of the New Age practice called "channeling," essentially a contemporary version of spirit meduimship in which human beings serve as channels for information said to come from a range of spiritual beings. This project culminated in several journal articles, book chapters, and one monograph, The Channeling Zone: American Spirituality in an Anxious Age (Harvard University Press, 1997).
